On November 13th and 14th, 2024, the University of Ferrara hosted the event LIFE TRANSFER: Know-how and Information Transfer and Exchange, as part of the LIFE19 NAT/IT/000264 project.
The event, organized by Project Manager Dr. Graziano Caramori and Prof. Michele Mistri, brought together 17 international experts to discuss and share best practices for seagrass meadows restoration.
On the first day, LIFE TRANSFER techniques and results for seagrass transplantation were presented, with insights into the best locations and timing for their application. Participants shared their experiences and case studies from Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Netherland and Portugal.
On the second day, a visit to the Caleri Lagoon, a LIFE TRANSFER site, allowed participants to observe the tangible results of the project and delve into the solutions adopted.
The meeting strengthened the capabilities of the professionals involved and promoted the application of the methodologies developed by the LIFE-TRANSFER project in other Natura 2000 areas and it proved to be a great opportunity for know-how exchange.
